The Demented Podcast #39 - Film Snobs Can Suck It!

I know. This is super late. I'm sorry, OK?! It's totally my fault. But it's here now, and now you can hear Man, I Love Films' own Kai, who joins us to discuss monster movies The Host and Cloverfield. After some discussions, Kai yet again climbs The Tower. And since it's Kai, you know what that means, right? That's right... the episode after this will be the next Battle Royale! (Hopefully.) Listen to find out who the next "lucky" contestants will be... and if Kai will join their ranks.

Due to Podomatic bandwidth issues, I will no longer be placing the podcast player on the site. But you can easily listen and subscribe through iTunes!

  1. Steve - Have you tried taking non-drowsy Dramamine when watching shaky cam movies? My wife gets somewhat severe motion sickness (with even 5 seconds of shaky cam-ness), but if she remembers to take the Dramamine, it doesn't bother her at all. I believe she even saw Cloverfield in the theater with me and had zero problems, whereas when she saw Blair Witch she had to leave and "was green" for hours afterwards. Big difference. (No need to read this portion of the feedback on the next show...and if you do decide to, then I'll just say some offensive things here, like Nick Jobe molests bunnies and Steve Honeywell runs an underage donkey sex ring in his basement.)

Anyway, as for the content of the episode (this you can read on air) - never seen The Host, and I'd say that I probably never will, except that you guys made it sound pretty interesting. We'll see. Cloverfield...I need to see again. I thought it was a fun ride when I saw it in the theater, but I haven't seen it since, and can't conceive of the notion that it would ever be counted amongst my favorite films. It's a roller coaster ride, but I can't say that I thought any of the characters were all that memorable or that it was well-written or anything like that. It had a solid concept and was executed well. That's all. But again - I'm due for a rewatch.

Haven't gotten to The Tower yet...
