Intro: 60 Weeks/60 Movies I Need To See.

Starting next Wednesday, I'm going to start a major personal project. Inspired by Jason Soto (between his Bucket List and his December Reader's Choice), I've decided to, every Wednesday, review a "You Need To See This Before You Die" movie that I've not seen. So for the rest of this week, I'd starting today, I'd like if y'all could start suggesting movies that I need to see.

These can be anything: classics, horror, comedy, drama, sci-fi, musicals, etc. Just throw up a ton of titles, and I'll take the ones I haven't seen and mix them with some of my own (if there are some that aren't listed that I know of). I'm going to be taking 60 movies, because taking the rest of this year and all of next year, that should give me an even 60 weeks.

So come on, guys! I know there are tons of movies you guys think I need to see. Start giving me some suggestions in the comments, and I'll put the new list up once I have enough (which is hopefully before next Wednesday).

  1. Great idea! Maybe to get people going, post a few you're already aware of and we'll add to them.

  3. Yikes, I would say doing a bit of what Mad did and just borrowing from top 100 lists (like mine *cough cough*). I'm not a huge fan but Empire's top 100 is a good list to build off of. Perhaps you should start a count so once we know what's there we can recommend others?

  4. Here's a basic starter list for those asking (and using some that y'all mentioned)...

    Casablanca
    Citizen Kane
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
    Lawrence of Arabia
    Seven Samurai
    Singin' in the Rain
    Vertigo (or almost any Hitchcock)
    Saving Private Ryan
    Seventh Seal
    M
    Cannibal Holocaust
    The Goonies
    The Godfather Part 2 (and/or 3)
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
    Goodfellas
    City of God
    Dr. Strangelove
    The Shining (original)

    etc. etc.

I know a lot of these are older, but I'll probably include newer stuff... though it's more likely I've seen newer stuff.
