The Last Airbender Teaser Trailer!

I know I just posted for a review, but then I saw this, and it's worth reposting for...

Just the other day, I mentioned movies I can't f**king wait for. Near the top of the list was The Last Airbender, and I mentioned how there hadn't even been a trailer for it yet. I spoke too soon. The first teaser trailer has just been released... and I still so can't wait. Though I wish it would have shown clips of other characters besides Aang...

  1. That's a lot of candles.

I noticed it was written by M. Night. Does that make you worried?

  2. It's directed by M. Night, as well. However, I don't have a worry since he *is* a good director. His issue is writing original material. With this, he's taking from a source (that he loves and wants to be faithful to), so I'm trusting him on this one.

The only weird thing he's done is cast some white people as Asian characters (For instance, Aang should look more Tibetan, and the characters of Sokka and Kitara are Inuit).

If you don't know the show, it's not based on Earth, but there are four kingdoms (water, air, earth, and fire), and they're based on different kinds of nationalities. The Air Kingdom (Aang) are like shaolin or Tibetan monks or something. The southern water tribe (Sokka and Kitara) are Inuit-like. The Earth Kingdom (which probably won't come in until the second movie) is more Chinese. And the Fire Kingdom (the bad guys) are Japanese, I believe, though in the movie are Indian, but that's fine, because they cast Dev Patel as Zuko, which I think is a pretty cool choice.

I just can't wait to see the badass bending effects (outside air, which they showed a little in the teaser).
