Musical Monday: The Nightmare Before Christmas - What's This? (#30).

[Every Monday, I'm going to be counting down my 52 favorite musical numbers from musical movies and TV shows. I might not like the full movie/show, but the number makes the list for various reasons: 1) I have to like the song, 2) the visual of how the number is performed is most likely unique or fun, 3) both song and visual mixes well to create an exciting or powerful number. So let's get to the next on the list.]

It's a song that explores the childlike wonderment of the new and exciting. Jack ends up in Christmastown and is completely enthralled by everything he experiences. It also gives us a fantastic look into the character of Jack, who had before this been depressed with the same old thing. The song is fun, catchy, and Jack's travel through Christmastown is fantastic. Not really anything else to say, so here's the segment:

  2. I've never liked or understood the appeal for Nightmare before Christmas. Sorry, can't agree with this one.

  3. Jess: That's understandable. Honestly, I don't love the movie as a whole. I think the whole thing is vastly overrated. I just like a couple songs from it.
