The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 12 (An Epic Finale - Part 2) + Bloopers.

Here it is! It's the final episode of The Vlog! See what happens in all 20(-ish) glorious minutes! And don't forget to stay until the very end! It's like Lord of the Rings up in here with all the additional endings. Oh yeah, and you don't wanna miss the first ever sighting of one James Blake Ewing!

Once you finish with that, check out the bloopers and alternate and/or deleted scenes. There were so many I had to separate them by episode. Yes, this is actually longer than the finale itself. So enjoy!

Please comment and let me know what you think about everything down below!

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 11 (An Epic Finale - Part 1).

Here we go, folks. This is the first of the two-part SERIES finale. And I must say, these are the two finest episodes of the entire series. I think that's pretty safe to say. Both are hilarious, exciting, and just damn entertaining, if I do say so myself. I also feel they both involve some of the best editing I've ever done. And I'm happy the show gets to go out with such a magnificent bang. So first up...

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 10 (Barry's Adventure - Part 2).

So, this episode has literally been months in the making. I basically wrote this season's Barry storyline around the fact Tom would be traveling across America. This is a long episode, and it's mainly awesome visuals (there are a couple story aspects tossed in here and there). That being said, I made each "segment" somehow movie-related (though one was Tom's idea). Your Challenge: Can you figure out all the references?

That being said, enjoy. Also... you might notice about a half-second mistake during the credits sequence near the start. Just ignore it. I'm not gonna go back and edit it out only to re-export and re-upload only to fix a half-second issue. And a special thanks to Tom for taking time out of his travels to take a bunch of awesome footage (and embarrass himself in public by wearing that hat).

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 9 (Barry's Adventure - Part 1).

Have you been wondering where Tom Clift has been all season? Well, he's finally here! And I must say, of all the "regular" episodes of The Vlog (i.e. the random, non-story, segment type), this is one of my favorites. I basically asked Tom to just improv and this is what he gave me. Actually, he gave me much more. By the end, I had at least 10 minutes of footage (if not a little more). I had to scale back some clips (which you'll see in the bloopers) and put in some cuts here and there. I also added in some fun effects and cheesy borders (I might go into more detail about that on a future commentary). But anyway, here you go! I hope you enjoy!

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 8 (Sing (Die) - Part 2).

So you didn't get enough singing last week? Well you're in luck! Here's the second musical episode! Is it even better than the last? Perhaps! (In a so-bad-its-good kind of away.) Hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think in the comments!

9.30.2012

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 7 (Sing (Die) - Part 1).

It's finally here! The first musical episode! I probably spent more time working on these two episodes than any other episodes I've ever done (since it took a lot more pre-production work, too). We've also now gotten halfway through the season and are officially out of the "black-and-white" section of the season. Anyway, here you go... I hope y'all like it! Let me know what y'all think in the comments!

9.23.2012

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 6 (Vlog Of The Living Dead - Part 2).

And here's the wrap-up of the 2-part zed word genre. I must say, this is one of my favorite "Previously On"bits... for reasons that will become obvious when you watch it. Also, one of my favorite editing jobs of the season is in this episode, near the end... though most of the credit goes to the camera persons for giving me what could have been otherwise incomprehensible footage and letting me have fun with it. Anywho, enjoy! And comment!

9.16.2012

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 5 (Vlog Of The Living Dead - Part 1).

After such an epic episode last week, where could we possibly go from there? Greatness, that's where! Almost every Episode 5 has been very memorable for one reason or another. For instance, the Walking on Air/Floor is Lava sequence of Season 1 or Dylan's Kai Monologue of Season 3. Will this join the ranks? (As for the genre, talk about weird timing considering what I just reviewed last.) Enjoy! And leave some comments!

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 4 (Get A Clue - Part 2).

(Note: Don't forget to check out the newest Demented Podcast--information in the previous post!)

Almost every season has had a memorable performance from Dylan. I believe this to be that episode for this season. Also, there is something that happens between Dylan and Sebastian... both were separately improv'd by both performers... and it fit so perfectly. Can you spot it? Enjoy! (And leave some comments!)

9.02.2012

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 3 (Get A Clue - Part 1).

Here's the next episode! What genre could possibly be next? I'll give you hint... I make an "Edward G. Robinson" reference AND an M reference in this episode. Take a gander! And leave some comments!

8.26.2012

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 2 (A Silent Start - Part 2).

We've got the setup out of the way... now let's dive in. Enjoy! Let me know what you think in the comments.

8.19.2012

The Vlog: Season 5, Episode 1 (A Silent Start - Part 1).

It has finally returned! It's time to begin the final season of The Vlog. And I must say, in my opinion... this is easily the best season. And I'm not just saying that. I guess because it's the final season, we had to go all-out. It's also probably the most straightforward since the first season. Also, unlike other seasons, I don't think this season has a single weak episode. To me, each episode is almost better than the last. And that unfortunately means the first episode, in theory, would be the weakest. But that's probably due to it just being a "setup" episode. The real fun starts Episode 2.

What's different about this season from other seasons is a slightly changed format. The past couple seasons have had the Vlog format/Story Time format alternation. This season works in 2-part arcs, building the story from various perspectives through genres. And yes, this is a more story- and character-focused season, though some randomness is still mixed in (but in plot-related ways).

Anyway, I've held you back long enough. Let's just get into it, shall we? I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think in the comments.

The Vlog: Explained + Season 5 Trailer.

It's about that time, guys and gals! So I have some videos for y'all today to get y'all in the mood for some Vloggy goodness.

First up is "The Vlog: Explained." Many of you have often asked me what the heck the plot of The Vlog actually is. I admit... everything can tend to get confusing, and most of you question exactly how everything works in this little brain of mine. Well, I finally decided to explain it all... in chronological order. So whether you just want The Vlog explained to you or you want a recap of the entire series thus far to refresh your memory (This will even work to get you caught up for the fifth season so you don't have to watch all four of the prior seasons if you don't want to)... this is for you.

So hopefully all of you. In this video, I touch on all the important elements of the series, including everything you'll need to know for the final season. So instead of just revisiting 4 hours worth of footage, here it is, all wrapped up in a 20-minute short.

NOTE: It starts off with a lot of narration, but I assure you I do eventually start breaking it up with scenes or clips played out from the actual show. So it's not just me narrating the entire time.

Anyway, now that you're all caught up, you can watch the trailer for Season 5. The only thing of note to add before just giving you the trailer is the first minute (or thereabouts) will not actually show up during the season. Sebastian recorded it extra, and I decided to use it for the trailer because it fit so well. Warning: there is potential motion sickness involved in that first half.

(P.S. This is probably my favorite trailer I've ever done.)

So what do you think of both? Please let me know in the comments! (And if you decide to skip the retrospective for now and come back to it, please let me know on that, too... because I spent a lot of time trying to get that just right.)
