The Demented Podcast #20 - Battle Royale 2.

Here it is, ladies and gentlemen. It's episode 20, so you know what that means! It's time for the second Battle Royale of The Tower. The Top 5 scorers from the previous 9 episodes are going head-to-head. And here they are:

1. Kai (142)
2. Jason (126)
3. Dylan (125)
4. Jess (123)
5. Rachel (114)
----------------------
(And The Rest)
6. Nick (104)
7. Simon (92)
8. Sebastian (84)
9. Nolahn (INCOMPLETE)
10. Keith (INCOMPLETE)

Does Jess make it past the first round this time? Does Jason flub at 20 Questions as he fears? Do Dylan and Kai face off, man to man? Is Rachel's middle name really "Default"? And how much does karma actually affect how this game works? Find answers to these and more (...maybe...) by listening in!

You can listen to this episode on the player below or by subscribing through iTunes.

That being said, enjoy! Thanks goes out to Kevin MacLeod's Incompetech website for great, royalty-free music. And thanks to Google for helping me find a website that will give me free video game audio samples.

The Demented Podcast #13 - Muppets Vs. Toons.

For the show's first return guest for a regular episode, we're introducing a new format. But never fear, it's only for returning guests. First-timers will still get a chance to try out the original format, as well. So on tap for this new format... is the very first guest I had, who tested out the original format first, too! That's right, it's Jess from Insight into Entertainment.

The new format entails the guest choosing a movie and me choosing a movie and discussing both. Jess chose The Muppets Take Manhattan, while I chose Who Framed Roger Rabbit? After a short discussion on both, we get into a new segment entitled Versus, where we have an interesting discussion on who would win in an epic battle to the death. This week? Muppets Vs. Toons. We, of course, have our own thoughts. But after you listen, make sure to leave us your own on who you think would win (among all your other thoughts, too, of course).

Then we wrap up the show with The Tower. After losing in the first round of the Battle Royale, Jess is determined to redeem herself. But does she do it? Listen and find out!

Current Tower Leaderboard
1) Jason - 126 Points
2) Nick - 104 Points
Nolahn - Incomplete

Current Battle Royale Champion
Rachel Thuro - 171 Points

Podcast: Reel Insight #26: Ben Foster.

Among the thousand things I did this past weekend, one of them was guesting on the Reel Insight podcast for the second time. As promised last time, I "forced" them to focus on Ben Foster this time around.

Let's just say I got a comment like "We might not let you guest ever again." (Jokingly, of course... I think.)

For some reason, they (particularly Jess) were not thrilled with this week's films. I had to defend my love for the guy while I sat around hearing about how suffering was involved and the plagues came and killed their first born sons (OK, maybe not)... though there's apparently some shared love for Justin Timberlake. It was quite a sad affair.

And that's after we finally got recording. This episode was plagued with so many problems. It took us over half an hour just to get going due to technical difficulties. Then near the very end, my internet crapped out. Then Podomatic wouldn't recognize the format for Rachel to post it up. And it was just one thing after another. But it's finally up and available... so check it out. And support me on my quest to proclaim Ben Foster's awesomeness to the world!

Podcast: The Demented Podcast #1 - Doorknob Entertainment.

UPDATE: I finally got notice from iTunes that the podcast has been accepted. About freakin' time. So yeah, now you can download from iTunes.

-----------------

For the first episode of The Demented Podcast, I have Jess from Insight into Entertainment. She introduces herself, and then we get into our very first "The Challenge." This episode, we take on a scene from the Kiera Knightley version of "Pride and Prejudice." But with a twist...

From there, we get into our main discussion: Book-to-Film adaptations. Of course we cover the obvious (Twilight and Harry Potter), but we even get into a bit of Bill Shakespeare, Stephen King, and more!

Finally, we wrap up the show with my new game, The Demented Tower. Will Jess make it all the way to the top? Or will she be violently assaulted by a magical floating lemur? Listen to find out!

And if you're wondering... yes, I had to edit out a lot of long pauses for think-time during the game (so sometimes, her answers--or even my responses--weren't as fast as they appear). You can listen to the episode below, and it will be available through iTunes sometime within the next 24 hours.
